How Orelza Renders Heraldry

Blazon-to-Vector Translation

Orelza interprets formal blazon syntax and converts it into scalable vector graphics in real-time. The app parses your text input, identifying fields, divisions, ordinaries, and charges according to established heraldic grammar. Each element is positioned mathematically based on traditional arrangement rules.

The rendering engine applies proper tincture layering, ensuring metal-on-color and color-on-metal compliance. When you type a phrase like "per pale azure and or," the system immediately divides the shield vertically and applies the correct blue and gold tinctures to each half.

Charges from the library integrate seamlessly into your blazon. Selecting a lion rampant automatically places it in the correct position with appropriate sizing relative to the field. The system respects traditional spacing conventions used in classical heraldry manuscripts.
